This exhibition was inspired by Seoul Innovation Park, where the disease management headquarters was in the 1960s. It was a place for animal experimentation, resulting in waste and reagents. Cho’s exposure to the wastewater treatment plant that treated the contaminated wastewater from the animal experiments fueled this project which was comprised of both performances and exhibitions; Cho created an interactive video and aural installation from video taken at the wastewater treatment plant and the Innovation Park.
이 퍼포먼스는 서울 혁신파크에서 혼종생명을 위한 진혼곡이라는 전시에서 오프닝 퍼포먼스로 진행되고 두번째 퍼포먼스는 백남준 아트 센터에서 경기 미디어 퍼포먼스 페스티벌에 속해서 진행 되습니다. 이 공연에서 저는 인간-생물-기계의 동반에 대한 질문을 던지기 위해 인간과 기계 (AI 로버트) 를 매개체로 사용했습니다. 먼져 공연의 구성으로는 테너가수의 노래, 작곡가의 라이브 연주, 그리고 영상이 플레이 됩니다. 영상에서 인간과 기계(로버트) 역할을 번갈아 가며 하는 여자배우가 인간과 기계가 서로에게하고 싶은 질문들을 서로에게 던집니다. 카운터 테너와 작곡가는 영상에서 여자가 던지는 질문에 음악으로 답을 합니다. 이러한 질문과 답은 생명체와 기계가 뒤엉킨 시대에 대한 통찰이며 작가는 관람자를 이것에 대해 고민하도록 유도 합니다. 이 작품의 영상에서 여자 배우는 사이보그가 아닌 인간과 기계의 역할을 번갈아 가며 합니다. 그녀는 존재란 무엇인가? 라는 질문을 던지며 공연장 안 과 박깥 공간에서 생명체의 존엄함과 기계 그리고 인간의 욕망에 관해 춤을 춥니다.
