Climate Hybrids (2025) is Elly Cho's first feature-length experimental documentary, filmed between New York and Seoul. The project explores human-ecological co-evolution through a hybrid visual language combining AI-generated imagery, choreography, and climate science. Shifting between dual-screen and single-screen formats, the film reflects the fragmented rhythms of memory, movement, and planetary change.
The film features interviews and insights from leading experts in climate science, anthropology, and water systems, including professors from Columbia University. Their voices guide the narrative’s exploration of adaptation, extinction, and speculative futures beyond Earth.
This work marks a pivotal moment in my practice, weaving together ecological transformation, cultural memory, and immersive visual storytelling. Climate Hybrids is currently being submitted to film festivals and screening platforms globally.
